Motu Research and Education Foundation
Motu is associated with the Motu Research and Education Foundation.The Motu Foundation is a charitable trust, established in 2006, that aims to produce and disseminate socially relevant New Zealand policy research. It provides funding for New Zealand economic and public policy research so that innovative and independent policy research can take place. In doing so, it aims to contribute effectively to the development of strong public policy in New Zealand.
Motu Patron Programme
The Motu Patron Programme was established in 2004. Funds generated by donations are used to:- underwrite the Motu Economic and Public Policy Seminar Series;
- produce and distribute précis of key policy-relevant working papers;
- organise programmes of activities for international visitors;
- sponsor a Maori scholarship and internship;
- sponsor the Motu Doctoral scholarship;
- support significant economics conferences and workshops; and
- provide seed grants for new areas of research
