Wei Zhang

Image of Wei ZhangWei arrived in New Zealand in 2003 from Beijing, China to study at Victoria University of Wellington. Since then, he has gained a BCA degree (majoring in Economics, Money and Finance, and Econometrics) and a BCA degree with 1st class honours majoring in Money and Finance and in Econometrics.

His recently submitted MCA thesis is titled: ‘Estimating the Empirical Capital Asset Pricing Model and its Implication in the Calculation of the Cost of Capital for Regulated Businesses’.

Wei started at Motu in April 2008, where his main occupation is to learn a model - the LURNZv1 model - and to develop its second version. In his spare time he works out every weekday, snorkels, and memorises the vocabulary for the United States’ Graduate Record Examinations (GRE).
