Supporting Motu

Because we are a charitable trust, we rely on external support to ensure that we are able to continue producing top economic and public policy research.

Our research programmes are funded by various organisations including government departments and private companies. We also receive additional, non-contract funding in the form of endowments and donations from a number of public and private institutions, as well as interested individuals. These additional funds are managed by the Motu Research and Education Foundation.

Motu Research and Education Foundation

Motu is associated with the Motu Research and Education Foundation. The Motu Foundation is a charitable trust, established in 2006, that aims to produce and disseminate socially relevant New Zealand policy research.

The aim of the Foundation is to support and promote quality economic research that provides a stronger platform for better public policy decision making, and to ensure that such research work is published and disseminated for widespread public use.

If you would like to support Motu in its aim of building research and policy capability, please visit the Motu Foundation website, or email for more information.
