Reports on Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart now available.
Motu Senior Fellow Arthur Grimes, along with researchers from the University of Otago Wellington School of Medicine, Covec and the VUW School of Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research, recently completed an assessment for the Ministry of Economic Development of the various effects of the Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart programme. Under the programme, subsidies are provided towards the cost of retrofitting insulation and/or installing clean heating (such as heat pumps). Four reports are now available: an overall cost-benefit analysis of the programme, and three more detailed reports on Warm Up New Zealand’s effects on energy use, health services utilisation, and industry and employment.
