Transport infrastructure, ‘lock-out’, and urban form
Abstract
Andrew Coleman presented this at the an Infrastructure Workshop jointly presented by IPS and Motu on Tuesday 13 July 2010. It is about the way that choices about public and private transport infrastructure networks can have long lasting effects on urban form. The main argument is that large scale highway networks create sprawling cities that are unsuited for public transport.
