Abstract

Non-point source trading for water quality is becoming a reality in New Zealand. It has been implemented in Lake Taupo with the Taupo Nitrogen Trading Programme and is actively being explored for Lake Rotorua. This presentation covers the basics of the Taupo system as well as the considerations and design goals in setting up a Rotorua scheme.
