Objective 1: To enhance and link component models
We will be using and enhancing four distinctive models in Objective 1: Land Use in Rural New Zealand (LURNZ), Energy Substitution, Social Accounting Matrix (ESSAM), Land value model: irrigation and flooding and Option pricing model. Using multiple economic models also enables us to get different and complementary perspectives on complex problems. All models will share some common datasets. We will address the data and methodological issues that allow these models to be linked with each other and with climate scenarios, agricultural productivity models, as well as models of removals enhancement and emissions mitigation provided by our EcoClimate partners.
