Nicholas Watson

Nic joined Motu as an intern in November 2018 after finishing a Bachelor of Business at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), where he majored in Economics and Sustainable Enterprise. Nic brings with him some research experience from working as a Research Assistant for the AUT–based Centre for Social Data Analytics. Once Nic has finished his internship with Motu he will be returning to AUT to pursue a post-graduate bachelor with honors in Economics.

While at Motu, Nic will be working with Lynn Riggs, updating the Household Emissions Tool with recent data from the Household Economic Survey. This tool allows households to gain a rough estimate of their emissions, based on their expenditure and household characteristics, and an idea of what effect certain emission reduction actions may have on them. Nic is excited to be working on this project as it is an ideal combination of the majors of his undergraduate degree.
