Eyal Apatov

Eyal joined Motu in August 2014 and left in December 2016. Prior to his time at Motu, Eyal was an analyst for the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment, where his work largely focused on better understanding the spatial characteristics of different social, demographic, and economic issues in New Zealand. Eyal completed a Master of Commerce degree at the University of Auckland, where his dissertation was assessing the impact of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and regional growth in New Zealand. Eyal's Bachelor of Applied Economics with honours, examined non-linearities in the relationship between private credit and house prices in OECD economies.

Eyal has now returned to MBIE and is working in strategic policy alongside Corey Allan.

Outside work, Eyal enjoys the outdoors, playing basketball and surfing, and practicing meditation and yoga.
